Texas Ranch

This bold space is a Contemporary Texas home on an Appaloosa horse ranch used by our Houston client on weekends for family, friends, and business outings. As an advertising executive, the client wanted his space to be representative of his strong belief in creativity, humor, and bold design. Because the project was a second home, and a man pad, the project faced tight budget constraints. Constant muddy boots enforced the need for durability and easy cleaning. The strong addition of a spotted cowhide sofa and bright leather chairs balance the impact of the imposing teal metal stairs and black marble fireplace. The addition of the 6’ x 12’ canvas we designed and commissioned for the space illustrates various cut-out cowboy clothes representing the owner’s humorous attitude about dressing up like a cowboy on the weekends! I won an ASID design excellence award for this project and it was published in Texas Monthly magazine.
