Beach Cottage
This 1920s southern California beach cottage was extensively remodeled and many architectural changes were made, including the addition of an 800-square-foot master bedroom suite. It remains a modest home, although lives more largely due to its open floor plan and many openings to the garden and ocean views beyond. As space is limited, an innovative dining area was created with a small expansion to bring the formal dining and living areas together. There are bookshelves and abundant stacks of books throughout. With numerous window seats added, oversized slip-covered furniture, and four fireplaces, the avid reader can’t wait to curl up with a good book. My team created magic in this home with warmth, charm, and detail. We won a Design Excellence Award for this project, and it was published in several national magazines and two books.
